Taylor's professional career started on YouTube. She started with making ASMR videos on her phone. Soon after reaching 50,000 subscribers, about 1 1/2 month after uploading her first video, she was featured in a game video made by PewDiePie. Taylor's Youtube channel surpassed 100,000 subscribers in 2 months. Taylor ceased to produce videos and uploaded them to private. Her main reasons were technical problems, equipment problems, and she was overwhelmed with the attention she received from her fans. Following a long hiatus of about a month Taylor began to make videos again, including the very popular ASMR 10 Triggers to help You sleep (35 million views by August 2022). ASMR 10 Triggers to Help You Sleep was a different video that she uploaded in July 2017that has been watched 38 million times as of August 2022. In August of 2017, Shane Dawson featured her in an interview. The channel also reached one million subscribers within a few days. Wired UK estimates that her YouTube advertising revenue was $1,000 each week from February to March 2019.

Dennis Helfer and Elaine Helfer are the parents of Helfer. Her parents are born to German as well as English descendance. She was educated at the William E. Hay Composite High School of Stettler in Alberta. The three sisters she had, Tammy, Tara and Trena worked and lived on her farm with her family. Helfer was spotted at 17 by a scout from a modeling agency while standing in line at an movie theater.
